"My daughter, Alexandra, has been receiving services from CARD in San Diego for over 2 years now.  She is now 6 1/2 and attending first grade in a fully included class in Oceanside.  She has made tremendous growth and development during the past few years and I know much of that is a direct result of the hard and competent work of your dedicated therapists and supervisors.  One, in particular, Emelia, has been amazing.  Literally, I do not know what I would have done without her.  The therapy provided by your office has changed our lives for the better, namely the life of my daughter.  She is now a happy, socially engaging, involved, young girl, which was not the case when we first came to CARD.  We now have what in all intents and purposes can be described as a 'normal' family life.  There really are no words to describe what that means to us."

(Mr. & Mrs. A.)

"...It amazes us how Theresa is able to tailor our son's program so specifically.  It continues to amaze us each day to see him wanting to be in our world.  We owe this entirely to his CARD program and the fact that we refuse to have it any other way.

How do we properly thank someone for believing with us that our little boy was capable of being pulled from a special ed. Preschool against our District's advice?  Once he was included in a typical classroom, he started to blossom, thanks to his very determined CARD aide at that time.  We know it was a lot of hard work on the CARD therapist's part.  We will always remember when we walked into my son's preschool class and he was actually sitting in circle time with the class.  This was something the Disctrict said couldn't be accomplished, and one very proud moment for us.   Eacy day this agency gives us something to celebrate.  We are so grateful.  Each night when our son includes his CARD therapists in his prayers we know he must realize something, and then he says '... and God bless Miss Theresa, because she's nice to me.'"

(Mr. & Mrs. W.)

"The result of her intensive intervention and dedication to his welfare is that he has surpassed what most professionals said was possible. He has been fully included in a regular classroom since kindergarten. He currently works at the same second grade level as his classmates in most subjects. Socially, he is really blooming. He has four good friends who include him in parties and invite him to their homes to play. As a mother, this is a dream come true."
(Mrs. R.)

"The program CARD offered saved my daughter from spending her life in an institution."
(Mr. T.)

"As professionals, we recognize that good education, training and experience can and does make a difference. When we met with Dr. Granpeesheh, we were impressed by her obvious expertise and the wealth of information that she provided. We also met with another provider of behavior modification, but we felt very strongly that CARD would not only better accommodate us, but would also provide us with additional information and resources to assist us with our son."
(Mr. H.)

"My son has been receiving therapy from CARD since April 29, 1994. To say that I am happy with the therapy is a monumental understatement. Since therapy began, although difficult for my son at first, he has progressed and made astounding progress. Two years ago I could not have imagined how high functioning he would be and now at age 4 years 11 months, if he continues to soak up the skills that his therapists provide him with, he may be so close to normal that his Autism will be indistinguishable to the general public."
(Mrs. M.)

Professional Endorsements…

"During her years at UCLA, Dr. Granpeesheh received extensive training in the application of behavior modification techniques with children with Autism."
(O. Ivar Lovaas, Ph.D.)
Director, UCLA Clinic for the Behavioral Treatment of Children

"I find C.A.R.D. to be a strong and solid organization which provides very beneficial therapeutic services for children with Autism and I recommend Dr. Granpeesheh's work."
(Michael Goldberg, M.D.)

"Dr. Granpeesheh is a highly qualified, widely respected and nationally recognized authority on early intensive behavioral intervention. I have no qualms in recommending her. Early intensive behavioral intervention has clearly been established as the preferred modality for enhancing the development of autistic and autistic type ("PDD") children."
(Bernard Rimland, Ph.D.)
Director, Autism Research Institute

"I have known Dr. Granpeesheh for several years. A program of early intensive behavioral intervention such as that provided by Dr. Granpeesheh's Center for Autism and Related Disorders, has clearly been established as the preferred modality for enhancing the development of autistic children."
(Bernard Rimland, Ph.D.)
Director, Autism Research Institute

"We chose Doreen Granpeesheh to sit on our Honorary Board at CAN, the Cure Autism Now foundation, because we feel that Dr. Granpeesheh has provided desperately needed behavioral intervention treatment, and with it hope for the future to hundreds of autistic children and their families in the Southern California area."
(Portia Iversen & Jonathan Shestack)
Co-founders of CAN the Cure Autism Now foundation

"I have found the therapists working at C.A.R.D. to be well trained and knowledgeable. Dr. Granpeesheh provides them with excellent supervision and teaches them to work in a diligent and professional manner."
